Rhein Lahn Living | Lahnstein

From industrial monument to architectural jewel

The new “Rhein Lahn Living” neighbourhood is being built on the site of the Löhnberg mill. Once the largest and most modern flour mill in Germany, it was built in 1890 and is now a listed building. The existing ensemble, which includes the mill building, the director’s villa, the workers’ flats and a clock tower, will retain its industrial character and be complemented by new buildings. This will create an architectural jewel for living and working with offices and restaurants in the heart of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site. The location on the Rhine offers a wide range of opportunities for leisure activities close to nature. The entire planning is based on the latest technologies and the use of prefabricated components.
